A Level and AS Level
The Advanced Level (A Level) and Advanced Subsidary Level (AS Level), a General Certificate of Education Qualification, is taken by students during the final two years of secondary school (after IGCSE exams). This qualification, like the IGCSE, is recognised around the world.
In BIS, students are expected to take 5 AS level subjects in Year 1 (Grade 11). Subjects are to be chosen from the three different curriculum groups specified by CIE. English is a compulsory subject. In Year 2 (Grade12) students need to take at least 3 A levels. This will ensure them an eligibility for an AICE Diploma.
Examinations are held in June and November.
